Case study: custom BBQ covers and aprons for Blok
When Blok wanted products that reflected its commitment to sustainability and to small, independent makers, we designed two bespoke pieces made entirely from rescued materials.
The BBQ cover
Each cover is handcrafted from a unique combination of reclaimed army tent canvas and recycled tyre inner tubes. It is made by skilled artisans in Indonesia whom we have worked with for over 12 years — a partnership that began as a small environmental project and has grown into a movement focused on giving discarded materials a new life through thoughtful design and craftsmanship.
The canvas and rubber are naturally tough and water-resistant, so the cover is built to live outdoors. To keep it performing at its best, we recommend treating it with a waterproof tent spray every six months.
The apron
The matching apron is made from end-of-line heavy-duty canvas — quality fabric that would otherwise have gone to waste — turned into a hard-wearing apron for the grill, kitchen or workshop.
The impact
To date, Paguro has given new life to over 59,000 kg of industrial waste — inner tubes, motorbike tyres, army tent canvas and more — keeping valuable materials out of landfill and turning them into something functional and meaningful. Collaborations like this one with Blok show how businesses can choose branded products that are made to last, tell a story and support independent makers.
♻️ Made with purpose. 🔧 Built to last. 🌍 Designed for a better future.
